A Review Of The Apple iPod Touch

In the three years that it's been around, Apple iPod Touch has changed.
Some would purchase this as a music player, some to surf the internet
and some to play the inventive games utilising the tilt function on the
iPod Touch.

Now in the third generation, the Touch has a well established reputation as one of the most
feature-packed music players on the market.

If you put this third generation release next to the second generation iPod Touch, they look
just about exactly the same. Small etchings on the back are the only thing that lets you distinguish
between the two.

Like it's bigger sister, the iPhone 3GS, the 3rd generation Touch has a 3.5 inch touch screen that boasts
a 480x320 pixel resolution. Of course, even though the device is almost completely touch screen, Apple has
put some physical buttons on the touch; the hold switch, volume control and home button, but apart from that
the device is totally touch-screen.

The 3rd generation Touch is still 4.3 inches long, 2.3 inches wide and 0.33 inches deep, and there's
still the curved steel back that will feel natural to you when you hold it, but will be a tad unstable when it
comes to putting the Touch down on the table.

Features are something that the 3rd gen iPod doesn't lack. It plays music, video, it will
check your email, browse the net, view photos and podcasts, and play allsorts of apps available.
It also features the iTunes store so that you can buy media from the iPod.

Performance-wise, the iPod Touch third generation is more or less unrivalled. No competitor
can come close to mimic the easy, flowing and snappy movement of the beautiful touch screen
and user interface. Competition has come around, but Apple maintains its position on thop.

Of course, to keep their device above the others on the market, Apple have been making vast improvements on the
performance of the Touch. Apple have been mainly focusing on the gaming side of the Touch, utilising
the new OpenGL graphics system to speed up the gaming experience dramatically. The speed and graphics
of this beast have been heavily improved.

On the bad side, Apple seems to have been focusing on system speed and graphics rendering in opposition
to the audio and sound enhancement, which remains unchanged, whereas the makers of the Touch's competition are rapidly improving their sound quality. That being aid
That being said, the iPod Touch still has sound that will definitely satisfy all.

If you are after your first ever Apple product, or are wanting to replace that
old iPod, this is the one for you.

If you are new to Apple products altogether, or have an old iPod and are looking for change, this beast is for you!
