How to Choose an Ipod Docking Station

When choosing a Ipod Docking, some features are definitely worth paying for, while others are a waste of money. In order to get the most of out of your docking station, you must first figure out how and where you are going to listen to your music.

One of the best feature an Ipod Docking station should have is a remote control. Without one, you are forced to change songs, manually on the ipod, itself. Normally not a problem, but when docked into the player, its quite easy to break the connector of the unit. I always had problem with one of my docking station because of this issue.

It's great to be able to charge your player without using your computer. Most units have this capability. You can listen to your music, without wearing down your battery.

Are you going to listen to your docking station, where there is no electricity, such as a beach or a picnic grove? In that case a battery powered ipod docking system would be of great use. Usually these are smaller less powerful units, but still are capable of producing loud sound.

Output jacks are very important feature. By connecting your station to your home stereo, you can have great sound , through out your house. Add the ability to run on electricity, you can listen to your ipod for hours on end. This is great for parties!

Depending on your particular needs, speakers are usually a reason to get a ipod docking station. If you like to listen to your pod loud, you had better check out the sound quality before buying. Most stores will let you listen to the docking station. If you can't, check Amazon for some quality units and reviews from customers.

Make sure your current ipod is compatible with the station you are buying. Most have adapter plates that make them universal with all ipods.
