Wav files when compressed result into MP3 files. The resulting MP3 files have many advantages such as light weight and portability. You can easily store more than a hundred MP3 files in one single CD ROM. The music quality also remains as good as the wav files. With so many advantages, you would not want to convert the MP3 back to CD format. However, it is the inability of many CD players that may get you to do the conversion. A number of car CD payers are known to not recognize the MP3 format.

MP3 files are actually the data files that can easily be played on a PC, or any other player that can identify the MP3 format. To convert the MP3 format into wave format, you would need decoding software. The decoding software is capable of converting the compressed files back to the wav files.

In case you have a CD writer setup in your PC, your job is simplified. With CD writers comes a software utility to burn the CD. In case you do not find the utility on your PC, you may browse the CD that came along with your CD writer and install the utility. The utility may be named something similar to a "CD burner?. Every different utility would have an interface of its own. However, the following steps are common to most software utilities.

The utility gives you quite a few options to start with. The options could include data, audio, photo and video, backup, favorites, and extras. Amongst all the options that are provided, you need to look for the one that says "Audio?, "burn a music CD?, or something similar to it. Clicking on this option would open up another window that has an empty panel to add the files. To add the files, you need to look for an "add? button or the one that sounds similar to it. Once you click on this button, you will be able to browse the MP3 files that you want to convert. Adding the files into the blank panel would automatically convert them into wav file. Also, as and when the files are added, an indicator would let you know about the remaining space left in the CD. The indicator could be a progress bar or something else.

You may click the "Next? button available on the window. This will open up another window that prompts you for some more detail, such as the CD title and artist name. Once you have filled up the details you can click on the "Burn? or "Next? option given to you. This will initiate the burn process. It could take a few minutes for the burn process to complete. Once the burn process is completed, the utility will come up with an alert box to let you know the same.

With the alert to have completed the burn process, you are done with the task. If you do not have a CD writer in your PC, you could search for a decoder on internet, download it, and install it. The decoding software will not be very different to use as the above discussed steps.
