Which iPod Is For You?
There's a variety of iPods made by Apple, all of which are completely different.
This article will sum up the features of each iPod, and hopefully shall give you
an insight into which iPod is for you.
The Shuffle: The Shuffle is the smallest out of the whole family of iPods.
Weighing only 10.7g, it's the only iPod which doesn't have a screen. It's
simply a keypad with the normal music control buttons.
Currently, the Shuffle is only available in 2GB and 4GB models, and unlike
the other iPods, it uses flash memory as opposed to a hard disk. At around $60,
the Shuffle is cheaper than it's other iPod siblings by far. It's targeted
at people who just want a cheap, simple personal media player that's still made
by a reputable company such as Apple.
The Nano: The Nano marks the medium of the iPod range. It is quite small and
thin, and it comes in a variety of vibrant, attractive colours. It comes in
8GB and 16GB models. The iPod Nano also boasts its own internal video camera,
letting you record videos in addition to just playing your media. The only of
its siblings which can do this too is the top-of-the-range iPhone 3GS!
The Nano is priced at around $150. It's aimed at people who want a good iPod, but
don't need a huge load of memory.
The Classic: Well, the iPod Classic is as its name suggests; it's the Classic
iPod. It's pretty similar to the first ever iPod that came out almost a decade
ago. Of course, it's much sleeker and functional when it was back then. You
can see the Classic as the iPod that boasts a load of storage space; you can
get it in 80GB and 160GB models!
The classic is priced at about $200. It's great for the people who seem to have an
eternal music library, and want it all there for them on their personal media player.
The iPod Touch: The Touch is very much different from the other iPods. It has no
touchpad that you would expect to find on all other iPods. Instead it's totally touch
screen. The Touch has a range of features, from playing your media to checking your
emails. It's currently available in 32GB and 64GB models, offering quite a lot of
storage space.
The iPod touch will cost you up to $400, depending on how much storage space you
want. It's primarily aimed at those people who want not only a great portable media
player, but also also something that will do other things like checking your emails.
The iPod comes in a variety of styles, formats and price ranges. With all of this
to choose from, you are bound to find the one for you.
